Dissecting Bolt: Myth we brought terrorism threat on ourselves

WASSIM Doureihi said something very frightening to Muslims protesting in Lakemba against last Thursday’s anti-terrorist raids.
Even more frightening is that no one — no politician, commentator or academic — condemned him.
Doureihi, a veteran leader of the Hizb ut-Tahrir movement, brushed off police claims that the men they’d arrested had planned to behead Australians on the orders of the Islamic State.

Where is the evidence they wanted to behead any Australians?

“Let me say clearly, even if a single bomb went off, even if a thousand bombs went off in this country, all it will prove is that Muslims are angry,” Doureihi said, speaking calmly.

Clearly, he was taking out of context. His speech was a figure of speech, most likely.

Put his comment in context. It was Doureihi who last November told 600 supporters at Hizb ut-Tahrir’s conference in Lidcombe they were victims of “a war on Islam — a war that is being waged in this country as it is in the rest of the world”.

600 supporters – it is hardly an enemy’s army.

And what does the Koran say to Muslims who believe themselves at war? Not to turn the other cheek but fight: “To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to defend themselves), because they are wronged.”

There is no such thing in Koran. Koran teaches peace and tolerance.

This is why Doureihi’s comments were so dangerous and — I suspect — why so many commentators ignored them.
Doureihi was already excusing even “a thousand bombs” here in response to what his organisation claims is a “war on Islam”.
It is that belief which has already landed 21 Muslims in jail for previous terrorist plots against Australians.
So why was this deadly warning ignored?
I suspect it is because Hizb ut-Tahrir finally destroyed the myth that we’ve just brought the terrorism threat on ourselves by “alienating” Muslims, and if we were just nicer some wouldn’t be forced pick up a gun or a knife.
“Alienation” is the myth even moderate Muslim leaders push. Just last week, Brisbane Muslim leader Ali Kadri told the ABC “the root” of Muslim extremism was “a fear of alienation and feeling of marginalisation because of foreign policy, when it comes to Israel/Palestine conflict”.
Incursions into Muslim lands are taken as an ultimate insult. The radicalised elements, that are not many, by the way, use that to recruit young and naive Muslims.
I say “myth” because of one telling fact above all: this country actually has as many Buddhists as Muslims. Yet where are the Buddhist terrorist plots? Where are the angry complaints about “alienation”? Where the warnings to change our foreign policies … or else?
Buddhists were never targeted socially as Muslims are.
No, there is something different with the Muslim community that we haven’t seen with the Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh or Confucian.
Doureihi’s rant nails it: one of the root causes of this extremism is Islam itself, preaching a hatred of nonbelievers and the legitimacy of killing to defend the faith.
Show me one reference in Koran that calls to kill infidels (us).
And how frantically the Left feeds what they should fear. How recklessly our media class — the vanguard of Western self-hatred — goes along with this paranoia and monstrous self-pity that justifies so much violence.
Take Labor MPs Sue Lines, Kim Carr and Melissa Parke, who all recklessly accused the Government of scaremongering about terrorism threats just to avoid talking about its Budget or to sell its anti-terrorism plans. Journalists of the Left even hinted last week’s raids were part of this cynical political plot.
ABC presenter Rafael Epstein asked an astonished Attorney-General George Brandis: “Do you accept in any way the criticism that you’d rather be talking about this than a difficult Budget?”
The Canberra Times suggested the Australian Federal Police and two state police forces were in on this conspiracy: “More cynical minds … will argue that vindication of the Federal Government decision last week to raise Australia’s terrorism alert from medium to high may well have been on the minds of those who planned the raids.”
Wendy Bacon, a professorial fellow with the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism, agreed that scepticism over the raids was “justified”, and Crikey political editor Bernard Keane claimed the Government was also sending troops to war in Iraq “to distract from its domestic problems”.
That’s a conspiracy so barking mad that you’d have to think the US, Britain, France, Italy and Saudi Arabia were all donating their armed forces to this war, too, just to help Abbott stop talking about a $7 Medicare co-payment.
You’d laugh if the Left wasn’t, in fact, legitimising the same deadly paranoia of Muslim extremists like Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Just think: “thousands of bombs”.
Irrational fear – no less. If Muslims were that bad- we would all be blown up by now – there are 500 000 of them in Australia.
So can they just cool it with their conspiracy theories before someone gets hurt?

Open our borders, open our hearts. Let African refugees in!

Open our borders, open our hearts. Let African refugees in!

Thousands of Africans embark on dangerous journey to Europe. Many perish at sea, drowning, dying of diseases.

The solution to this crisis is to establish sea lines and transport all proposed African and Middle Eastern refugees to Europe. This will prevent drowning and will allow to scan for disease while en route.

This is most humane way of dealing with the problem!

There is an argument that Europe , USA, Canada  and Australia will turn “black” if millions of African refugees are taken in. This is very racist argument. What is wrong with turning “black”?

Breaking news. Muslim gene found! Islam is a race!

I have heard on the radio that Professor Ibrahim Navhundonsoor (I think that is the name I heard) discovered Muslim gene. Importantly, the gene appears even in recent converts to Islam. This is not a miracle but a true science.

This is an important news because any attack and criticizing Islam becomes a racism crime . All bigots and racists will have to stop critisizing Islam!

See you in jail for race crime Daniel Pipes, Pamela Geller and that Dutch racist MP I don’t remember his name.

Piss Christ and Innocence of Muslims, double standards and cowardice of the Left.

Piss Christ and Innocence of Muslims, double standards and cowardice of the Left.

Piss Christ – 0 (zero) killed in 28 years since first public display. Innocence of Muslims – thousands killed in a few first days of a first appearance. That, certainly tells something about Christian and Muslim cultures. The conclusion is obvious – Christian culture is weak, not violent and unattractive.

This article is about the photograph by Andres Serrano.

Piss Christ

Piss Christ is a 1987 photograph by the American artist and photographer Andres Serrano. It depicts a small plastic crucifix submerged in a glass of the artist’s urine. The piece was a winner of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art’s “Awards in the Visual Arts” competition,[1] which was sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States Government agency that offers support and funding for artistic projects, without controlling content.

The photograph is of a small plastic crucifix submerged in what appears to be a yellow liquid. The artist has described the substance as being his own urine in a glass.[2][3] The photograph was one of a series of photographs that Serrano had made that involved classical statuettes submerged in various fluids—milk, blood, and urine.[4] The full title of the work is Immersion (Piss Christ).[5][6] The photograph is a 60-by-40-inch (150 by 100 cm)Cibachrome print. It is glossy and its colors are deeply saturated. The presentation is that of a golden, rosy medium including a constellation of tiny bubbles. Without Serrano specifying the substance to be urine and without the title referring to urine by another name, the viewer would not necessarily be able to differentiate between the stated medium of urine and a medium of similar appearance, such as amber or polyurethane.[7]

Serrano has not ascribed overtly political content to Piss Christ and related artworks, on the contrary stressing their ambiguity. He has also said that while this work is not intended to denounce religion, it alludes to a perceived commercializing or cheapening of Christian icons in contemporary culture.[8]

The art critic Lucy R. Lippard has presented a constructive case for the formal value of Serrano’sPiss Christ, which she characterizes as mysterious and beautiful.[7] She writes that the work is “a darkly beautiful photographic image… the small wood and plastic crucifix becomes virtually monumental as it floats, photographically enlarged, in a deep rosy glow that is both ominous and glorious.” Lippard suggests that the formal values of the image can be regarded separately from other meanings.[9]

Reception

In 1987, Serrano’s Piss Christ was exhibited at the Stux Gallery in New York and was favorably received.[10] The piece later caused a scandal when it was exhibited in 1989, with detractors, including United States Senators Al D’Amato and Jesse Helms, outraged that Serrano received $15,000 for the work, and $5,000 in 1986[11] from the taxpayer-funded National Endowment for the Arts. Serrano received death threats and hate mail, and he lost grants due to the controversy.[12] Others alleged that the government funding of Piss Christ violated separation of church and state.[13][14] The work was vandalized at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, and gallery officials reported receiving death threats in response to Piss Christ.[15] Supporters argued that the controversy over Piss Christ is an issue of artistic freedom and freedom of speech.[15]

Sister Wendy Beckett, an art critic and Catholic nun, stated in a television interview with Bill Moyers that she regarded the work as not blasphemous but a statement on “what we have done to Christ”: that is, the way contemporary society has come to regard Christ and the values he represents.[16]

During a retrospective of Serrano’s work at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1997, the then Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne, George Pell, sought an injunction from the Supreme Court of Victoria to restrain the National Gallery of Victoria from publicly displaying Piss Christ, which was not granted. Some days later, one patron attempted to remove the work from the gallery wall, and two teenagers later attacked it with a hammer.[citation needed] The director of the NGV cancelled the show, allegedly out of concern for a Rembrandt exhibition that was also on display at the time.[13]

Piss Christ was included in “Down by Law”, a “show within a show” on identity politics and disobedience that formed part of the 2006 Whitney Biennial. The British Channel 4 TV documentaryDamned in the USA explored the controversy surrounding Piss Christ.

On April 17, 2011, a print of Piss Christ was vandalized “beyond repair” by Christian protesters while on display during the Je crois aux miracles (I believe in miracles) exhibition at theCollection Lambert, a contemporary art museum in Avignon, France.[17][18] Serrano’s photoThe Church was similarly vandalized in the attack.

Beginning September 27, 2012, Piss Christ was on display at the Edward Tyler Nahem gallery in New York, at the Andres Serrano show “Body and Spirit.”[19] Religious groups and some lawmakers called for President Barack Obama to denounce the artwork, comparing it to the anti-Islamic film Innocence of Muslims that the White House had condemned earlier that month. So, why Mr Obama and his friends of the Left refuse to condemn Innocence of Muslims?

Is Islamisation of Europe really bad?

| Religion | December 31, 2013

Islamisation of Europe cannot and should not be resisted.

Is Islamisation of Europe really bad?

There is a debate that becomes prominent is Islamisation of Europe really bad? Summary: statistics show that by 2050 most of the population of Europe will be Muslim. This trend causes Islamophobic backlash. Attacks on Muslims intensify. The confrontation is inevitable. Can this be prevented by community agreement for step by step Islamisation of European societies?

There is a body of statistics showing that with current demographic trend Muslims will become absolute majority in Western European countries. This is attributed to higher birth rate in Muslim families compared to native Europeans. Significant Muslim migration to Europe in recent decades also plays role.

Whilst most of the Europeans do not feel adverse about this demographic trend, some, engage in attacks on Muslims, organize anti-Muslim societies and associations. Recent events in Norway, where Anders Brevik committed mass murder based on anti-Muslim sentiment, show that there are elements in societies that will not stop at verbal attacks. There even some voices in Norway and beyond suggesting that Brevik will be hailed as national hero within a decade due to widespread war between Muslims and native European populations.

Is Islamisation of Europe really bad? Where the negativity is coming from?

There is no particular evidence that suggests Islamisation being a negative phenomenon. In other words, what is wrong with most of the population of any given country being Muslim?

Certainly, community leaders on both sides should come to a dialogue on step by step “normalization” of the demographic trend for Islamisation. This may prevent a backlash and violence. This may be a solution, some academics say.

Islam is not a threat to LGBT because Islam is Religion of Peace and Tolerance.

| Religion, Tidbits | December 22, 2013

Islam is not a threat to LGBT because Islam is Religion of Peace and Tolerance.

Islam is not a threat to LGBT because Islam is Religion of Peace and Tolerance. There are many Islamophobic voices that claim some horrific scenarios where gay and lesbian are persecuted by Islam.

This scare tactic is based on the notion that gay and lesbian persons will be persecuted if Muslims become majority in any given Western country. This is wrong assumption. Muslim leaders welcome LGBT movement as a gesture of peace and tolerance. Islam is Religion of love and has nothing against gays.

Gays are welcome in Muslim organizations and are not being discriminated. Moreover, Islam being a persecuted minority has, probably, better understanding of gay and lesbian issues than any other group or religion.

Zionist propaganda is pushing the idea that gay and lesbians are persecuted in countries where Islam is dominant or State endorsed religion. Where is any evidence of that? LGBT is safe with Islam.

gays hanged

The picture above is a Zionist propaganda. The hanged persons are not gay, but criminals.
